Newspaper Story on FW Kinnoin
There was a newspaper article written about Frithiof Werner Kinnoin published in The Stanley Sun on Thursday, December 7, 1939 (yes, two years exactly before Pearl Harbor). Since stories seem to change over time, I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy of the article. I have heard several different versions of how and why FW Kinnoin was let into the country, so I don't think we will ever be exactly sure what happened back on Ellis Island in 1903.
This article is interesting none the less, and would be a great story for anyone studying the immigration rush years and Ellis Island. I'm not sure why, but I have never been able to find records of FW coming through Ellis Island in 1903. Maybe it is because they didn't know what to do with him then. I did find his re-entry record after his trip to Finland in 1909, which he mentions in the article.
The article very clearly states that FW had a packet of papers saved, and I would love to know what happened to them. I have asked several relatives that I thought might have them, but no one knows what happened to them. If any of you read the article and might know what happened to the papers, please let me know.
